The great thing about investing in a shed from truPoint Backyards is that the space you create is so versatile—it can be used for just about anything you can think of.
One use that has gained popularity in recent years is using a garage-size shed as either a spare or detached garage.
Benefits of a Garage-Size Shed
Harsh winters and a beating sun during the summer months can take a toll on cars that are left out in the elements. If you can use the storage space, think of the garage-size shed as an investment. Being able to keep your vehicles out of the elements can add years of life to your machines and cut down on costly maintenance and repairs.
Being able to store your vehicles in one place will also help beautify your property. Additional cars and other vehicles taking up space in the driveway or strewn about the lawn are potential eyesores, so having a shed for a garage will help tidy things up.
How to Pick Out a Shed to Use as a Garage
The Beverly is perfect to store any additional vehicles or outdoor toys that you might have on your property.
This comes with low-maintenance vinyl siding, a shed style roof, a 24×36-inch window, and single fiberglass door. On the end, you can choose a 72-inch double door or a standard overhead door (with or without windows), along with a poly ramp to drive vehicles in and out easily. The interior floor is a highly durable LuxGuard seamless rubber flooring.
We also offer an optional electrical package, complete with a breaker box, tamper-proof receptacle (outlet), along with indoor and outdoor lights. Indoor or outdoor GFCI receptacles and external solar lights are also available. And if you require a climate-controlled space, your electrical package can also come with air conditioning, heat, or both.
Choose from a variety of colors for both the siding and roof. Roof options include metal and shingles.
How Much Size Do You Need?
If you’re looking to store one average-sized vehicle and not much else, a 12×16-foot shed will suffice. A 12×20 will give you more room in front of the vehicle, and a 12×24 or 12×28 model will give you room for a smaller vehicle (lawn mower, snowblower, or an all-terrain vehicle) and possibly some storage space. If you’re looking to store two vehicles back-to-back, go with a 12×32 model, or you can use that with one vehicle along with some room to build a workshop.
If you’re looking to add more storage space, you can choose from a number of add-ons. These include a loft above your garage space, interior shelving on one or both walls, a pegboard, or work bench.
